What has driven me to Japan? Well, I was looking for a place to spend my hard-earned money during vacation. Because a friend of mine also wanted to go there, we eventually ended up in Japan.

The Māori call it Aotearoa, land of the long white cloud, but it is the most beautiful end of the world for us who live on the Northern hemisphere: New Zealand. Situated in the Southern Pacific and about 2,000 kilometres away from its closest neighbouring state Australia, it is not just a stone’s throw away to visit this country with its unspoiled nature and almost unique vegetation. Despite the long flight from Frankfurt/Main with a stopover in Singapore we had our benefits from it at the very first day. Ahead of us was a journey of 6,600 kilometres by car, 340 kilometres by train, and 50 nautical miles by ferry to experience memorable moments in this breathtaking scenery.
